Research Methodology
Sheikh DAO employs a multi-layered analytical framework to produce intelligence on decentralized governance in the Gulf and Middle East.
Data Sources
Our research draws on the following primary and secondary sources:
- On-chain data: Direct analysis of blockchain transactions, smart contract interactions, governance proposals, and token distribution across major DAO protocols operating in or relevant to the GCC region.
- Regulatory filings: Official publications from VARA (Dubai), SAMA (Saudi Arabia), CBB (Bahrain), QCB (Qatar), CBO (Oman), and CBK (Kuwait).
- Government publications: National blockchain strategies, digital economy frameworks, and sovereign innovation initiatives from all six GCC states.
- Academic research: Peer-reviewed papers on Islamic finance, Sharia-compliant DeFi, and governance theory from leading institutions.
- Industry data: Reports from Chainalysis, Messari, DeFi Llama, DeepDAO, and other on-chain analytics platforms.
Analytical Framework
Each piece of analysis undergoes a three-stage review process:
- Data verification: All quantitative claims are verified against at least two independent sources.
- Contextual analysis: Data is interpreted within the relevant regulatory, cultural, and economic context of the specific GCC jurisdiction.
- Editorial review: Final review by senior analysts to ensure accuracy, balance, and analytical rigor.
